How to Replace the PCV Valve in a 2003 Buick LeSabre

    • 1). Place the LaSabre in "Park" and allow the vehicle to cool for at least 30 minutes if it has been driven recently.

    • 2). Pull the hood release latch located near the steering column in the vehicle. Identify the PCV valve on the engine crankcase toward the back of the unit. The valve is positioned in a rubber grommet and has a thin hose coming out of the end of it.

    • 3). Pull the valve out of the rubber grommet using a pair of needle nose pliers to grasp and remove the valve.

    • 4). Remove the hose from the defective valve by gently pulling it out, and place it to the side.

    • 5). Position the replacement valve into the rubber grommet. Push down until you hear the valve click into place. Once you hear the click, the valve is secured. Connect the hose to the valve by pushing it into the hose connection spot.

    • 6). Close the hood of the LaSabre.
